ShiftMed to Hire 5,000 CNAs in Cities Hit Hard by COVID-19

On-Demand Health Care Staffing Platform is Addressing the Shortfall of Health Care Workers and Helping Displaced Hourly Workers Generate Desperately Needed Income

MCLEAN, Va.–ShiftMed LLC, one of the largest on-demand health care staffing platforms in the country, announced today that it will be hiring 5,000 additional certified nursing assistants (“CNAs”) as W2 workers for immediate deployment in key markets. These locations include New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, Baltimore, MD, Cherry Hill, NJ, Washington, DC and Richmond, VA.

ShiftMed provides part-time CNAs to health care providers who care for the most vulnerable patient populations. These providers include skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, hospice providers and hospitals.

“With the spread of Coronavirus to every state, the country’s caregiver shortage has never been more dangerous,” said Todd Walrath, CEO of ShiftMed. “The ShiftMed mobile app is the fastest way for health care providers to find caregivers, and for caregivers to find shifts when and where they want to work.”

Qualified CNAs can start working the same day they download. If you would like to learn more about ShiftMed, go to ShiftMed.com or visit The App Store or Google Play to download our app and get started. Caregivers only need a valid certified nursing assistant (“CNA”) license. ShiftMed also has openings for LPNs and RNs as well. ShiftMed will help with background checks and other requirements needed to start working.

Health care providers that need additional CNAs can call 866-892-6221 or request a demo at ShiftMed.com.

“It is estimated that there may be more than 2 million new unemployment filings over the next couple weeks,” said Walrath. “We wanted to do our part in helping hourly workers continue to earn so they can pay bills and take care of their families. Many caregivers work two jobs to make ends meet. Picking up shifts on ShiftMed can be a great option for these caregivers.”

ShiftMed caregivers also receive health benefits, workers compensation and unemployment benefits. Their hourly rate is typically among the highest for CNA work in each geography we serve.

ShiftMed works with more than 150 enterprise partners across the country to provide them with the labor and software tools needed to streamline the delivery of care services. The ShiftMed on-demand platforms allow health care providers to get compliant, credentialed workers on a daily basis to meet the unpredictable, changing needs of the business. “It’s difficult for health care providers to forecast demand in a typical environment, let alone during a national health emergency,” added Walrath. “We are proud of our entire team and the fact that they continue to show up and care for the most vulnerable patients during this crisis.”
